Section 90:13C - Safety measures for amphibious sight-seeing vehicles(a) As used in this section, the term "amphibious sight-seeing vehicle" shall mean a motorized vehicle that is used for carrying, for consideration, persons for sight-seeing, touring or similar activities and that is designed to operate both on land and in the water including, but not limited to, vehicles commonly referred to as DUKWs, LARCs, Stalwarts, hybrids and United States Coast Guard certified amphibians.(b) An amphibious sight-seeing vehicle operating on a public way shall be equipped with safety equipment as prescribed by the registrar including, but not limited to, blind spot cameras and proximity sensors.(c) A person shall not provide a guide service, narrate history, identify landmarks or sights or otherwise provide entertainment or information when operating an amphibious sight-seeing vehicle on a public way.(d) Whoever violates this section shall be punished by a fine of not more than $500 for the first offense and by a fine of not more than $1,000 for a second or subsequent offense.(e) The registrar shall promulgate rules and regulations necessary to effectuate the purposes of this section.Mass.
