Section 656 - Acquisition of land by the county for the authority

The county shall have power to acquire by purchase or by condemnation title in its name to any real property which may be needed or convenient for the project or in connection therewith, including real property of municipal corporations, public utility corporations and railroad corporations. Any municipal corporation may convey, with or without consideration, to the county any right, title or interest in real property without any election or vote of the electors, taxpayers or freeholders. Payment for real property so acquired by the county may be made by the authority. The power to acquire real property hereby granted shall include the power to acquire the Atlantic beach bridge and any or all rights or franchises connected with the operation of said bridge which it may be necessary or convenient for the authority to acquire. The power hereby conferred upon the county shall not limit or restrict the power of the authority itself to acquire real property in the name of the county.
