A public water system shall, as soon as practicable, give public notice if it:
(1) is not in compliance with the State Primary Drinking Water Regulations;(2) fails to perform required monitoring;(3) is granted a variance for an inability to meet a maximum contaminant level requirement;(4) is granted an exemption; or(5) fails to comply with the requirements prescribed by a variance or exemption.The board shall prescribe procedures for the public notice, including procedures for notification by publication in a newspaper of general circulation, notification to be given in the water bills of the systems, as long as a condition of violation exists, and other notification as is considered appropriate by the board.
