Section 8482.1 - DefinitionsFor purposes of this article, Article 19 (commencing with Section 8420), and Article 22.6 (commencing with Section 8484.7), the following definitions shall apply:
(a) "Expanded learning" means before school, after school, summer, or intersession learning programs that focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of pupils through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. It is the intent of the Legislature that expanded learning programs are pupil-centered, results driven, include community partners, and complement, but do not replicate, learning activities in the regular schoolday and school year.(b) "Summer/supplemental grant" means funding to operate any program in excess of 180 regular schooldays or during any combination of summer, intersession, or vacation periods.Amended by Stats 2018 ch 507 (SB 816),s 2, eff. 1/1/2019.Added by Stats 2014 ch 370 (SB 1221),s 10, eff. 1/1/2015.
