Section 23-79-154 - Reimbursement for physician assistant services(a) As used in this section, "health plan" means any group, blanket, or individual accident and health insurance policy, contract, or plan issued in this state by an insurance company, a hospital medical service corporation, or a health maintenance organization, provided that nothing in this subchapter shall apply to accident only, specified disease, hospital indemnity, Medicare supplement, long-term care, disability income, or other limited benefit health insurance policies.(b) A health plan shall not refuse to reimburse a physician at the full rate for healthcare services provided by a physician assistant if the practice complies with the laws of this state.(c) A health plan shall not impose a practice or supervision restriction on a physician assistant that is inconsistent with or more restrictive than the restriction already imposed by the laws of this state.
