All matters should be handled with due respect for the rights or privacy of parties and non-parties.
Specifically, a lawyer who manifests professional courtesy and civility:
(a) Does not inquire into, nor attempt to use, nor threaten to use, facts about the private lives of any party or other individual for purpose of gaining an advantage in a case; and where sensitive matters are relevant to an issue, will pursue such inquiry as narrowly as reasonably possible(b) Cooperates, if it is necessary to inquire into such matters, in arranging for protective measures designed to assure that the information revealed is disclosed only to those persons who need it in order to present the relevant evidence to the court.Haw.
