Section 5-8 - Stock Pits

a. Stock pits are considered as stock reservoirs; therefore, the wording throughout the application should not be altered to read "stock pits." When the structure is a stock pit, the application is prepared in the same manner as for any other stock reservoir, with the following exceptions:

(1) The Area Hap should show the top dimensions, bottom dimensions, depth, capacity computations, and surface area computations. The formula used to compute capacity and area is shown on page 69.

(2) The Profile of Damsite should be changed to Section A-A of the pit. Show a complete profile of the pit, including the high-water line elevation at top of ground, and the bottom elevation. The Section A-A of the pit should also include the horizontal scale, vertical elevation scale, and stationing.

b. An example for the proper method of preparing the second page of the application form for a pit type stock reservoir, is shown on page 69.
