Section Trans 233.11 - Variances

The commission may, in appropriate cases and subject to appropriate conditions and safeguards, authorize variances to the terms of these rules and regulations in special cases where the literal application of these rules and regulations will result in practical difficulty or unnecessary hardship, or will defeat an orderly over-all development plan of a local unit of government; provided that such variance shall not be contrary to the public interest and shall be in harmony with the general purposes and intent of ch. 236, Stats., and these rules and regulations.
