Section 10.2 - Definition of "medically deprived" area(a) As used in this chapter, a "medically deprived" area is one in which there exists an inadequate availability of medical care to the general population, or parts thereof, or where such care is not readily accessible to the population being served, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise.(b) This definition is based upon criteria published in 43 Fed. Reg. 1585 (1978) which were developed by the Federal government to implement 42 U.S.C. § 254e (1976).
