(a) Species, rates and techniques of seeding and planting shall be adequate to achieve the standards for successful revegetation of § 77.618 (relating to standards for successful revegetation).(b) Legume seed shall be inoculated or treated with the specific inoculate for that seed, and the seed shall be seeded within 24 hours after inoculation or treatment.(c) A single tree or shrub species may not comprise more than 50% of the total number of seedlings planted unless alternative silviculture practices are approved.(d) When the approved postmining land use is wildlife habitat, unless alternative plans are approved or required by the Department, a minimum of 75% of the land affected shall be planted with a mixture of woody species which provides a diverse plant community. The remaining affected area shall be planted to an approved herbaceous cover. The configuration and species composition of the cover types shall be established in accordance with guidelines established by appropriate State wildlife agencies.The provisions of this §77.615 adopted March 16, 1990, effective 3/17/1990, 20 Pa.B. 1643.
