Section 310:667-31-1 - Social work services(a)Availability of service. Social work services shall be available to the patient, the patient's family, and other persons significant to the patient, in order to facilitate adjustment of the individuals to the impact of illness and to promote maximum benefits from the health-care services provided. Services may be provided as follows: (1) An organized social work department or service within the hospital that has a fulltime, qualified social work director.(2) A qualified social worker employed on a part-time basis.(3) An outside social work service that is obtained through a written agreement, defining the role and responsibility of the outside services (consultant social workers).(b)Policies and procedures. The method for providing social services shall be clearly defined and shall provide for supervision of the delivery of such services by a qualified social worker. Social work services shall be guided by written policies and procedures.(c)Adequate records. Adequate documentation of social work services provided shall be part of the patient's medical record and shall include: (1) Observation and social assessment of the patient.(2) Plan of treatment and social work services provided.(3) Social work summary, including any recommendation for follow-up.Okla.
