Section 3.50 - Registered degrees

The following degrees and their corresponding symbols are authorized and approved.

(a) General degrees in course.
(1) Liberal Arts and Science:

Associate in Arts (A.A.)

Associate in Science (A.S.)

Bachelor of Arts (A.B. or B.A.)

Note: Associate in Science degree. Any institution of higher education authorized to confer both the Associate in Applied Science degree and the Associate in Arts degree may, without individual application for amendment to its charter, confer the Associate in Science degree, providing the programs leading to the degree have been registered in accordance with the regulations of the commissioner.

(2) Professional Studies:

Bachelor of Professional Studies (B.P.S.)

Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.)

Master of Professional Studies (M.P.S.)

Doctor of Arts (D.A.)

Doctor of Professional Studies (D.P.S.)

Note: Any institution of higher education authorized to confer the Bachelor of Arts degree or the Bachelor of Science degree may confer the Bachelor of Professional Studies degree; any institution of higher education authorized to confer the Master of Arts degree or the Master of Science degree may confer the Master of Professional Studies degree; any institution of higher education authorized to confer the Doctor of Philosophy degree may confer the Doctor of Professional Studies degree; provided that the programs leading to the degrees have been registered in accordance with the regulations of the commissioner.

Note: The following engineering degrees which were deleted by amendment filed January 11, 1963 may be granted to any student duly enrolled in a course leading to such degree prior to June 30, 1963:
