Section 459.662 - Operating requirements1. Normal operating procedures must be written and made available to all workers on analytical X-ray equipment. No person may operate analytical X-ray equipment in any manner other than that specified in the procedures unless he or she has obtained written approval of the person responsible for radiation safety.2. No person may bypass a safety device unless he or she has obtained the approval of the person responsible for radiation safety. Such an approval must be for a specified period. When a safety device has been bypassed, a readily discernible sign bearing the words "SAFETY DEVICE NOT WORKING," or words having a similar meaning, must be placed on the radiation source housing and the control panel.Nev.
