Section 20 CSR 2040-2.021 - PermitsPURPOSE: This rule is being amended to increase the permit fees for all events to match the permit fee charged for a professional wrestling event. The fee increase is necessary to ensure the office has sufficient revenue to offset the cost of regulation.
(1) The promoter shall obtain a separate permit for each contest from the office prior to each contest. The request for the permit must be received by the office no later than ten (10) business days before the date of a contest. The office will not approve permits for- (A) Bouts between members of the opposite sex for professional and amateur boxing, professional kickboxing, professional full-contact karate, or professional and amateur mixed martial arts;(B) Bouts between human contestants and nonhumans;(C) Bouts between professional and amateur contestants; or(D) Contests with more than two (2) contestants competing in the same bout.(2) Fees for professional boxing, professional and amateur kickboxing, professional full-contact karate, professional wrestling, professional mixed martial arts, and amateur mixed martial arts permits are are one hundred fifty dollars ($150) per contest per day.(3) The office may deny an application for such a permit or grant a limited, restricted, or conditional permit for any cause deemed sufficient by the office.(4) No promoter, official, or contestant may serve in any capacity at contests for which the office has denied a permit or for which a permit has not been issued. Such participation may be grounds for discipline.(5) The promoter must have an approved permit before any publicity is issued on the contest.
