Rule 31-2-6.4 - Processing Correct Requests1. In order to expunge a record, it must be deleted from both the Center's and the FBI's records. The steps associated with expunging a record follow. a. Reviewed by legal staff;b. Forwarded to a Records Technician who obtains the State Identification number (SID) for that specific record;c. Order is entered and scanned into the MCHS; and d. Technician retrieves the actual file containing the arrest record, pulls the arrest card from the file and attaches it to the Expunction Order.2. Prior to the establishment of the Center in March of 1998, law enforcement agencies forwarded arrest and conviction information directly to the FBI. Therefore, it is possible that a record may exist at the federal level but not at the state level. If this is the case, the order will be forwarded to the FBI and the clerk will be notified.Miss.
