1. All criminal justice agencies in Mississippi are required to submit to CIC fingerprints, descriptions, photographs, and other identifying information on individuals who have been lawfully arrested or taken into custody in this state for all felonies and certain misdemeanors described in Miss. Code Ann. § 45-27-7(2) a.2. The designated CIC unit reviews and enters this data into the Mississippi Criminal History system. This information is then made available to all local, state, and federal criminal justice agencies. Other agencies or persons, as authorized by specific state or federal statutes, may also access this information (refer to Section 8.0 ).Miss.
