Subsection 144-101-III-67-20 - SPECIAL SERVICE ALLOWANCE20.1Principle. A special ancillary service is to be distinguished from a service generally provided in the nursing facility. 20.1.1 A special ancillary service is that of an individual nature required in the case of a specific resident. This type of service is limited to professional services such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech and hearing services. Special services of this nature must be billed monthly to the Department as separate items required for the care of individual members.20.1.2 For eligible members, including those with other related conditions, the Department will reimburse community support services for persons with Development Disabilities in accordance with Chapter III, Section 21, Home and Community Benefits for Members with Mental Retardation or Autistic Disorder.
