Section XLVII-3301 - Implementation of the Nurse Practice ActA. The Nurse Practice Act, R.S. 37:911 et seq., provides that, in order to safeguard life and health, any person practicing or offering to practice as a registered nurse or as an advanced practice registered nurse in this state shall submit evidence that (s)he is qualified to do so and shall be licensed to practice as a registered nurse or as an advanced practice registered nurse. The act creates a Board of Nursing with regulatory authority, dictates the board's composition and qualifications, methods of appointment and term of office of the board members. The duties of the board are specified in R.S. 37:918, and these duties provide for the implementation of the Nurse Practice Act through the adoption of rules and regulations.La. Admin.
