Section XV-912 - Ventilation Systems
A. A means shall be provided to ensure that personnel entering any area where airborne radioactivity may be produced will not be exposed to airborne radioactive material in excess of those limits specified in LAC 33:XV.499.Appendix B, Table I.
B. A registrant and/or licensee, as required by LAC 33:XV.416, shall not vent, release, or otherwise discharge airborne radioactive material to an unrestricted area in concentrations that exceed the limits specified in LAC 33:XV.499.Appendix B, Table II, except as authorized pursuant to LAC 33:XV.422.B or 461. For purposes of this Subsection, concentrations may be averaged over a period not greater than one year. Every reasonable effort should be made to maintain releases of radioactive material to unrestricted areas as far below these limits as is reasonably achievable. Records of intentional releases shall be maintained for two years for inspection by the department.
