Section 20-2-2 - Decision on a claim
(a) After examining the papers filed in support of the claim, and the report of investigation, and after a hearing, whether formal or informal, if any, the board shall make a decision either making an award or denying the claim. All claimants and attorneys shall fully cooperate with the investigators, agents and representatives of the board and with law enforcement agencies. If such cooperation is refused, the board may deny the claim.
(b) When the determination of the claim is made by the board, the board shall file the decision and the reason for that decision with the executive director of the board. The executive director shall notify the claimant or claimant's attorney of the decision by mailing a copy of the decision to the claimant or the claimant's attorney.
