Section 1-17-7c - Accident repairs

Employees are prohibited from making personal payments for repairs to motor pool vehicles as a result of accidents. Regular state purchasing and accounting procedures shall apply for payment of vehicle accident repairs. In cases where the liability is with the other party involved, checks for settlement and repair costs by liable party or insurance company shall be remitted directly to the department of administration, central motor pool. Any agency employee involved shall initiate any claim against any other party involved and assist in the collection of payment for vehicle repairs or replacement, if liability is with the non-state party. Notice of problems or delays in repairs to damaged vehicles and date of payment to repair shop shall be furnished to the central motor pool.
