Rule 751-4.8 - Telephone or network proceedings

The presiding officer may resolve preliminary procedural motions by telephone conference or on the Iowa Communications Network in which all parties have an opportunity to participate. Other telephone or network proceedings, including the hearing for the contested case proceeding, may be held with the consent of all parties. The presiding officer will determine the location of the parties and witnesses for telephone or network hearings. The convenience of the witnesses or parties, as well as the nature of the case, will be considered when location is chosen. The cost of the telephone hearing or network hearing may be assessed equally to each party.
