Section 16-131-16 - Credit for service interruptions

In the event the subscriber's service is interrupted other than by the negligence or willful act of the subscriber and remains out of order for twenty-four hours or longer after being reported to be out of order, appropriate adjustments or refunds shall be made to the subscriber. In the event the subscriber's service is interrupted by natural or other disaster beyond the control of the cable operator adjustments or refunds shall be made to subscribers affected, if service is not restored within seventy-two hours. The amount of adjustment or refund shall be determined on the basis of the known period of interruption, generally beginning from the time the service interruption is first reported. The refund to the subscriber shall be the pro rata part of the month's charge for the period of days that service was interrupted. The refund may be accomplished by a credit on a subsequent bill for cable services.
