Rule 6-B210 - JOB POSTINGS AND AREAS OF CONSIDERATION
210.1

Each competitive appointment shall be advertised for not less than three (3) days.

210.2

The area of consideration for each posting shall be sufficiently broad to ensure the availability of high-quality candidates, considering the nature and level of the positions). For most job postings, the area of consideration will be:

(a) The public;
(b) District employees;
(c) Agency employees; or
(d) Participants in special employment programs pursuant to § 219.3.
210.3

The minimum area of consideration shall be the agency, unless otherwise authorized by this chapter or the personnel authority.

210.4

Hiring by subordinate agencies for entry-level positions shall first be conducted pursuant to section 801(b-l) of the Comprehensive Merit Personnel Act, effective Mar. 3, 1979 (D.C. Law 2-139; D.C. Official Code § l-608.01(b-l). If no one is selected through this process, then the position shall be filled using the procedures set out in this chapter.
