Section 7-323l-10a - Fire service instructor I, II and III(a)General(1) A candidate for fire service instructor I, fire service instructor II or fire service instructor III certification shall be an active member of a fire department.(2) A candidate for fire service instructor I certification shall be a certified fire fighter II or shall document in writing that the candidate has been an active member of a fire department since prior to July 1, 1977.(3) A candidate for fire service instructor II shall be a certified fire service instructor I.(4) A candidate for fire service instructor III shall be a certified fire service instructor II.(5) No person shall be certified to the level of fire service instructor I, fire service instructor II or fire service instructor III until all examination requirements of this standard for those levels have been fulfilled.(b)Objectives: The candidate for certification to the level of fire service instructor I, fire service instructor II or fire service instructor III shall comply with the performance objectives of NFPA 1041, Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications.(c) The commission shall certify as a fire service instructor I, fire service instructor II or fire service instructor III any candidate who has satisfactorily met the requirements as prescribed in this section.Conn.
