Section 480-3-4-.27 - Physical Examinations
(1) Physical Condition
(a) All prospective employees at any pit or quarry, shall receive a careful and thorough examination by a licensed physician selected by the operator before employment. Such examination shall determine the prospective employee's hearing, vision, the condition of his heart and lungs and any detectable physical or mental abnormalities, or defects which might affect his health or safety or the health or safety of fellow employees.
(b) A prospective employee not physically fit shall be employed only at work which may be performed by such employee, without endangering the health or safety of himself or other employees.
(c) No person proved to be mentally unbalanced shall be employed in or around any pit or quarry.
(d) Physical examinations before employment shall be provided by the operator without cost to the prospective employee.
