ACTION:

Notice of meeting.

SUMMARY:

The Northeast Oregon Forests Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) will hold a public meeting according to the details shown below. The committee is authorized under the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act (the Act) and operates in compliance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA). The purpose of the committee is to improve collaborative relationships and to provide advice and recommendations to the Forest Service concerning projects and funding consistent with Title II of the Act, as well as make recommendations on recreation fee proposals for sites on the Malheur, Umatilla, and Wallowa-Whitman National Forests, consistent with the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act. The meeting will be held on October 13, 2022, 10:00 a.m.-04:30 p.m., Pacific Daylight Time.

This meeting will also be held at OSU Extension Office, located in Baker City, Oregon at 2600 East St., Baker City, OR 97814. This location is dependant on County COVID-19 status at the time of the meeting. The public may also join virtually via telephone and/or video conference. Written comments may be submitted as described under Supplementary Information . All comments, including names and addresses when provided, are placed in the record and are available for public inspection and copying. The public may inspect comments received upon request.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

The purpose of the meeting is to:

1. Review and recommendations of Title II proposal submitted to the Malheur, Umattilla and Wallowa-Whitman National Forestest on or before August 15, 2022.

2. Schedule the next meeting; and

3. Other new or old business.

Meetings are open to the public. The agenda will include time for people to make oral statements of three minutes or less. Individuals wishing to make an oral statement should make a request in writing by October 3, 2022, to be scheduled on the agenda for the meeting. Anyone who would like to bring related matters to the attention of the committee may file written statements with the committee staff before or after the meeting. Written comments and requests for time for oral comments must be sent to Doug McKay, P.O. Box 7, 117 S Main St., Heppner, OR; or by email to Douglas.Mckay@usda.gov.
