Section 662 - Display areas - Preservation of historical documentsA. The Secretary of State is hereby authorized and directed to take measures necessary for the preservation and care of the original State Constitution.B. Except as otherwise provided by subsection C of this section, the original State Constitution or its replica, and other historically significant artifacts and documents, shall be publicly displayed in an area to be designated by the Secretary of State in the State Capitol Building. The display area shall be under the jurisdiction and control of the Secretary of State.C. The Secretary of State is authorized to elect an alternate secure location on state-owned property for the preservation or exhibition of the original State Constitution if the display of the original document in the State Capitol Building would place the document at risk for damage from heat, cold, light, moisture or other environmental factors which in the judgment of the Secretary of State requires display or storage of the original document in an alternate location.Okla.
