Section 440.7103 - Article subject to governmental treaty, statute, or regulatory statute; electronic signatures(1) This article is subject to any treaty or statute of the United States or regulatory statute of this state to the extent the treaty, statute, or regulatory statute is applicable.(2) This article does not modify or repeal any law prescribing the form or content of a document of title or the services or facilities to be afforded by a bailee, or otherwise regulating a bailee's business in respects not specifically treated in this article. However, violation of such a law does not affect the status of a document of title that otherwise is within the definition of a document of title.(3) This act modifies, limits, and supersedes the electronic signatures in global and national commerce act, 15 USC 7001 to 7031, but does not modify, limit, or supersede 15 USC 7001(a) or authorize electronic delivery of any of the notices described in 15 USC 7003(b).(4) To the extent there is a conflict between the uniform electronic transactions act, 2000 PA 305, MCL 450.831 to 450.849, and this article, this article governs.Amended by 2012, Act 87,s 20, eff. 7/1/2013.1962, Act 174, Eff. 1/1/1964.
