Section 24-1-113 - Department of law - creation(1) There is hereby created a department of law, the head of which shall be the attorney general.(2) Except as otherwise provided in this article 1 or by law: (a) The department of law, created in article 31 of this title 24, is a type 2 entity, as defined in section 24-1-105, and exercises its powers and performs its duties and functions as specified by law and subject to the state constitution.(b) The office of the attorney general is a type 2 entity, as defined in section 24-1-105, and exercises its powers and performs its duties and functions as vested in the office of the attorney general by law or the state constitution.Amended by 2022 Ch. 469, § 8, eff. 8/10/2022.Amended by 2020 Ch. 12, § 1, eff. 9/1/2020.Amended by 2017 Ch. 260, § 19, eff. 8/9/2017.L. 68: p. 76, § 13.
