Section 3701-53-04 - Blood, urine, oral fluid and other bodily substance tests(A) Approved techniques for the analysis of alcohol in blood, urine, oral fluid and other bodily substances are: (3) Other techniques or methods, that have documented sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, precision, linearity and are based on procedures which have been published in a peer reviewed or juried scientific journal or thoroughly documented by the designated laboratory director may be approved by the director.(B) Approved techniques for the analysis of controlled substances, metabolites of controlled substances, as defined in section 4511.19 of the Revised Code, impairing substances and drugs of abuse as defined in section 3719.011 of the Revised Code are: (2) Thin-layer chromatography;(5) High performance liquid chromatography;(7) Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry;(8) Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry; or(9) Other techniques or methods that have documented sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, precision, linearity and are based on procedures which have been published in a peer reviewed or juried scientific journal or thoroughly documented by the designated laboratory director may be approved by the director.(C) All positive results of tests specified in paragraph (B) of this rule are to be confirmed by one or more approved analytical techniques or methods.
