Section 75-04-01-27 - [Effective 1/1/2025] Group home design1. Group home facilities shall be small enough and of a modest design, minimizing the length of hallways, the number of exterior corners, and the complexity of construction, to ensure the development of meaningful interpersonal relationships and the provision of proper programming, services, and direct care. New or remodeled homes completed after July 1, 1985, are limited to occupancy by no more than eight individuals with developmental disabilities.2. Group home facilities shall simulate the most homelike atmosphere possible in order to encourage a personalized environment.3. Group home facilities shall provide, at a minimum, enough living space, based on the needs of both males and females, with provisions for privacy and appropriate access to quiet areas where an individual can be alone.4. Group home facilities shall provide arrangement of space for all eligible individuals to participate in various activities, both in groups and singly. Space must be arranged to minimize noise for communication at normal conversational levels.5. Group home facilities shall be accessible to nonambulatory eligible individuals, visitors, and employees.N.D. Admin Code 75-04-01-27
