Section 2302.23 - Program for strengthening leadership resources of State educational agencies-activity B

Educational information collection and reporting.

(a)Specific objective.

The objective is to insure that accurate and timely information on all areas of education is available to planners and decision-makers. This capacity helps assure that policy and program decisions at the local, State and Federal levels are based not only on philosophy and subjective judgment, but are also based on valid, reliable and timely data. The ready availability of reliable data greatly increases the department's capacity for conducting effective planning, research and evaluation.

(b)Specific activities.

(1) New York State Information Center on Education.

(i) Specific objective. Develop, implement and operate educational data systems for the purpose of assembling information in all areas of the State's educational data system.

5. Public school financial data.	Same as number one for public school financial data
6. Higher education data system.	Same as number one for public and nonpublic colleges and universities

(ii) Specific objective. Coordinate all data collection procedures within the Education Department.

(iii) Specific objective. Plan, supervise and conduct special surveys and studies.
