Section XLV-2549 - Organization; AuthorityA. The Advisory Committee on Respiratory Care (the "committee"), as established, appointed and organized pursuant to R.S. 37:3356 of the Act is hereby recognized by the board.B. The committee shall: 1. have such authority as is accorded to it by the Act;2. function and meet as prescribed by the Act;3. monitor respiratory care education and training programs conducted in the state of Louisiana;4. advise the board on issues affecting the licensing of respiratory therapists and regulation of respiratory care in the state of Louisiana;5. provide advice and recommendations to the board respecting the modification, amendment and supplementation of rules and regulations, standards, policies and procedures respecting respiratory care licensure and practice;6. serve as liaison between and among the board, licensed respiratory therapists, and professional organizations;7. have authority to review and advise the board on requests for extension of temporary licenses (examination permits) and applications for license reinstatement;8. conduct audits on applications to ensure satisfactory completion of continuing education and competency as specified by the board's rules;9. perform such other functions and provide such additional advice and recommendations as may be requested by the board; and10. receive reimbursement in the amount of fifty dollars per day for attendance at meetings of the advisory committee and other activities and expenses specifically authorized by the board.La.
