Section 7182 - Trailing Electric Power Cables, Maintenance and Repair(a) Trailing electric power cables shall be maintained in good repair.(b) Conductors of trailing electric power cables shall be so spliced or joined as to be mechanically and electrically secured without solder and unless an approved splicing device is used, shall then be soldered with a fusible metal or alloy or brazed or welded. All splices and joints and free ends of conductors shall be covered with an insulation equivalent to that on the conductors.(c) When the jackets of trailing electric power cables have been cut or damaged so that their insulation protection is substantially reduced, or when the conductors of such cables have been sliced, the jackets shall be repaired and vulcanized so that the repaired section will have insulating properties equivalent to the original electric cable cover.Cal.
