YUO LIANG ZHANG, Petitioner v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent
ORDER
Kathleen Kerrigan, Chief Judge.
This case is not currently calendared for trial. On March 6, 2023, petitioner filed a letter with the Court, stating that he speaks only a little English and will need assistance at trial in the form of a Mandarin interpreter.
All Court proceedings are conducted in English. All documents must be filed in English or include a certified English translation. It is generally the responsibility of each petitioner to bring an interpreter to assist at hearing or trial. However, if petitioner gives advance notice, the Court may have one available.
Upon due consideration of the foregoing, it is
ORDERED that petitioner is advised that when petitioner is provided notice from the Court that this case has been calendared for trial, petitioner may let the Judge know (as early as possible before trial) that petitioner needs assistance from an interpreter. In addition, if petitioner meets certain financial requirements, the Court may be able to provide assistance to petitioner to pay the reasonable expenses of an interpreter.
