On May 24, 2016, we abated and remanded this case to the trial court based on the failure of appellant's appointed counsel, Joseph Shalab, to file a brief on appellant's behalf. The trial court clerk has filed a supplemental clerk's record that includes the trial court's order, reflecting that the trial court held a hearing on June 2, 2016, found that appellant is indigent, and appointed Chevo Pastrano to represent appellant on appeal. Accordingly, we REINSTATE this case on the Court's active docket.
The Clerk of this Court is directed to note on the docket of this Court Chevo Pastrano as appointed counsel for appellant. See TEX. CODE CRIM. PROC. ANN. art. 26.04(j) (Vernon Supp. 2015).
Appellant's brief is due to be filed in this Court no later than 30 days from the date of this order. See TEX. R. APP. P. 38.6(a).
