Xiu Qiang Chen Petitioner v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue Respondent

ORDER

Mark V. Holmes Judge

This case was on the Court's May 24, 2021 trial calendar for New York City. It is about substantiation of the income and expenses of a now-closed restaurant, and there have been some problems in getting petitioner to produce his records to the IRS. Respondent recently reported, however, that the case is back on track and that the IRS Appeals Office is already producing computations and will be making a settlement offer to petitioner. The case is on the right track, and so it is

ORDERED that on or before May 16, 2022 respondent file another status report describing any progress toward settlement or a narrowing of the issues to be tried in these cases, particularly any progress made at IRS Appeals.
