VICTORIA WRIGHT, Appellant v. SERGIO MENDEZ, Appellee
On Appeal from the County Court Delta County, Texas
Trial Court No. 2057 Before Morriss, C.J., Burgess and Stevens, JJ.
MEMORANDUM OPINION
Victoria Wright filed a timely notice of appeal January 17, 2020. The clerk's record was filed March 17, 2020. The reporter's record has not been filed. The original deadline for Wright's appellate brief was April 16, 2020. When neither a brief nor a motion to extend the deadline for filing a brief was received, this Court advised Wright by letter dated May 1, 2020, that the brief was late. We also extended the deadline for filing the brief to May 18, 2020. We warned Wright that the failure to file a brief by May 18, 2020, would subject this appeal to dismissal for want of prosecution. See TEX. R. APP. P. 38.8(a)(1), 42.3(b), (c).
We have received no responsive communication from Wright and have not received her appellate brief. Since we have not received any response to this Court's letter of May 1, 2020, Wright's appeal is ripe for dismissal for want of prosecution. Consequently, pursuant to Rules 38.8 and 42.3 of the Texas Rules of Appellate Procedure, we dismiss this appeal for want of prosecution. See TEX. R. APP. P. 38.8(a)(1), 42.3(b), (c).
