JAMES WORMAN, Petitioner v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

Mark V. Holmes Judge.

This case is one of two on the March 4, 2024 Las Vegas, Nevada trial calendar that arise from a microcaptive-insurance arrangement. They are very nearly the oldest cases on the calendar, and on January 29, 2024 the parties moved for another continuance. We spoke with the parties today and learned that they have reached a "framework" for settlement. Petitioners owe respondent one more tranche of records, and promised to get it sent within a month. Respondent reasonably asked to have two months after that to review it, perhaps run computations and, in the most optimistic scenario, draft settlement papers. We will therefore keep the case off the pretrial-order track, and it is

ORDERED that the parties' January 29, 2024 motion for a continuance is granted in that this case is stricken from the Court's March 4, 2024 Las Vegas, Nevada trial calendar. It is also

ORDERED that this division of the Court retains jurisdiction. It is also

ORDERED that on or before April 1, 2024 the parties submit settlement documents or file a joint status report describing their progress in doing so.
