Williams v. State

Court of Appeals of Texas, Fifth District, Dallas
Aug 1, 2006
No. 05-06-00994-CR (Tex. App. Aug. 1, 2006)

Opinion

No. 05-06-00994-CR

Opinion Filed August 1, 2006.

On Appeal from the Criminal District Court No. 5, Dallas County, Texas, Trial Court Cause No. F03-01255-L. Dismiss.

Before Justices FITZGERALD, FRANCIS, and LANG-MIERS.

MEMORANDUM OPINION

Michael Jerome Williams was convicted of injury to a child. Sentence of imprisonment for ten years was imposed on February 3, 2006. No motion for new trial was filed; therefore, appellant's notice of appeal was due by Monday, March 6, 2006. See Tex.R.App.P. 4.1(a), 26.2(a)(1). Appellant's June 14, 2006 notice of appeal is untimely, leaving us without jurisdiction over the appeal. See Slaton v. State, 981 S.W.2d 208, 210 (Tex.Crim.App. 1998) (per curiam); Boyd v. State, 971 S.W.2d 603, 605-06 (Tex.App.-Dallas 1998, no pet.). We dismiss the appeal for want of jurisdiction.
