Williams v. State

District Court of Appeal of Florida, First District
May 4, 2006
928 So. 2d 477 (Fla. Dist. Ct. App. 2006)

Opinion

No. 1D06-1304.

May 4, 2006.

Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus and Writ of Mandamus — Original Jurisdiction.

Willie Joe Williams, pro se, Petitioner.

Charlie Crist, Attorney General, Tallahassee, for Respondent.

To the extent petitioner presents a claim of ineffective assistance of appellate counsel, that claim and his claim for mandamus relief are denied on the merits. To the extent the petition otherwise attempts to state a claim for habeas corpus relief, we dismiss that claim as unauthorized. See Baker v. State, 878 So.2d 1236 (Fla. 2004).

ALLEN, VAN NORTWICK, and POLSTON, JJ., concur.
