ORDER
Per Curiam
On September 6, 2024, Debbie G. Edwards, the official court reporter for Tarrant County Criminal District Court No. 3, certified to this court that she was unable to convert State's Exhibit No. 102 - CD - Intersection Video "into a format and/or size compatible with the requirements of the TAMES portal, the Uniform Format Manual for Texas Reporters' Records, and Appendix C of the Rules of Appellate Procedure" for the following reason: "State's Exhibit 102 contains a video that is proprietary and will not play or show that the video is available to be viewed and [is] not recognizable for conversion." We therefore ordered the trial court clerk to deliver a copy of State's Exhibit No. 102 to us for review.
After we received State's Exhibit No. 102, court personnel reviewed it to determine whether the file on it could be viewed and uploaded to the TAMES records submission portal (RSP). State's Exhibit 102 is a CD-R disc that contains a video recording. The recording is saved on the disc as an MKV file, which can be viewed and played using VLC media player (VideoLAN Organization) or Windows media player (Microsoft). The MKV file format is natively supported by both media players and is thus compatible with the TAMES RSP without the need to be converted into another format. See Jud. Comm. on Info. The video on State's Exhibit No. 102 can therefore be submitted electronically in its present format in compliance with the requirements of the TAMES RSP.
Accordingly, we will return the copy of State's Exhibit No. 102 to the trial court clerk, and we order court reporter Debbie G. Edwards to upload the video contained on the exhibit to the TAMES RSP in compliance with the applicable rules no later than Monday, December 30, 2024.
We direct the clerk of this court to send a notice of this order to court reporter Debbie G. Edwards, the attorneys of record, the trial court judge, and the trial court clerk.
