LAXAVIER LAMAR WHITTLEY, Appellant v. THE STATE OF TEXAS, Appellee

On Appeal from the 417th Judicial District Court Collin County, Texas Trial Court Cause No. 417-81486-2020

ORDER

DENNISE GARCIA JUSTICE.

Appellant, who was convicted of aggravated sexual assault, filed his brief on October 2, 2021. In the brief, he identifies the victim by name.

This Court does not allow a party to file a brief that discloses the names of victims in sexual assault cases. Accordingly, we STRIKE appellant's brief.

We ORDER appellant to file, within TEN DAYS of the date of this order, an amended brief that identifies the victim either generically (for example, 1 "victim") or by initials only, including when quoting relevant portions of the record or giving a statement of the case.

We DIRECT the Clerk to send copies of this order to the Honorable Cynthia Wheless, Presiding Judge, 417th Judicial District Court; to Jennifer Castleman; and to the Collin County District Attorney's Office, Appellate Division. 2
