Petitioner/Defendant-Appellant filed a "Response to the Supreme Court Ruling," on August 26, 2016, which we review as a motion for reconsideration or, in the alternative, for an extension of time to file an application for writ of certiorari.¹ Upon consideration of this filing, the documents attached thereto and submitted in support thereof, and the record, to the extent Petitioner challenges the dismissal of her application for writ of certiorari, it is untimely. See Hawai'i Rules of Appellate Procedure (HRAP) Rule 40(a)(1) (providing that a motion for reconsideration may be filed by a party only within ten days after the filing of the dispositional order). Further, to the extent Petitioner seeks an extension of time to file her application for writ of certiorari, the request is also untimely. See HRAP Rule 40.1(a)(2)-(4) (providing 30 days for a party to extend the time to file an application for a writ of certiorari and that "[a]n untimely request shall not extend the time"). Accordingly,
