MERLE S. WATT JR., Petitioner v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

Mark V. Holmes, Judge.

This case is on the Court's June 12, 2023 trial calendar for Buffalo, New York at a time and date for trial of June 13, 2023. Mr. Watt then suffered a serious health emergency that left him hospitalized. He moved for a continuance, and respondent of course did not object. We spoke with the lawyers on May 22, 2023 and all agreed that the case should be moved to the status-report track for now. The Court urges them to continue working on the submission and verification of Mr. Watt's business expenses, but for now it is

ORDERED that petitioner's May 12, 2023 motion for a continuance is granted in that this case is stricken from the Court's June 12, 2023 Buffalo trial calendar. It is also

ORDERED that this division of the court retains jurisdiction. It is also

ORDERED that on or before August 22, 2023 the parties file a status report to describe any progress they've made toward settlement.
