Watson v. MRD Comm.

Court of Appeal of Louisiana, First Circuit
Feb 9, 2007
949 So. 2d 673 (La. Ct. App. 2007)

Opinion

No. 2006 CA 0631.

February 9, 2007.

On Appeal from the Twenty-Second Judicial District Court, (Number 2004-15711 "F"), Parish of St. Tammany State of Louisiana, The Honorable Martin E. Coady, Judge.

Disposition: AFFIRMED.

Jeffrey L. Watson, In proper person, Lacombe, Louisiana, Plaintiff/Appellant.

Norbert C. Rayford, Douglas E. Homer, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, J. Jerome Burden, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Counsel for Defendant/Appellee Louisiana Department of Labor.

BEFORE: KUHN, GAIDRY, AND WELCH, JJ.

Claimant-appellant, Jeffrey L. Watson, seeks review of the trial court's judgment, affirming the Louisiana Board of Review's determination that he was properly disqualified for unemployment compensation benefits. A review of the record shows that the facts found by the Administrative Law Judge and the Board are supported by competent evidence and these facts, as a matter of law, justify the Board's decision. La. R.S. 23:1601(1)(a) and La. R.S. 23:1634B. As such, the trial court properly affirmed the Board's action. Watson is assessed with the costs of this appeal.

AFFIRMED IN COMPLIANCE WITH UNIFORM COURT OF APPEAL RULE 2-16.2(2), (5), (6), AND (8).
