These microcaptive-insurance cases are on the Court's March 6, 2023 trial calendar for Dallas, Texas. We had already continued them for years, and on January 26, 2023 the parties moved to continue them again. We spoke with the parties today to gauge progress, and learned that they have reached a basis for settlement, but have only just begun working on computations and a closing agreement for these cases and two later tax years. They reasonably suggest reporting in four months if they haven't settled, and it is therefore
ORDERED that the parties' January 26, 2023 motion for a continuance is granted in that these cases are stricken from the Court's March 6, 2023 trial calendar for Dallas, Texas. It is also
ORDERED that this division of the Court retains jurisdiction. It is also
ORDERED that on or before June 13, 2023 the parties shall submit settlement documents or file a status report describing their progress.
