ORDER

Lewis R. Carluzzo Chief Special Trial Judge.

This case for the redeterminations of deficiencies, presently set for trial during the Los Angeles, California, trial session scheduled to begin in that city on October 7, 2024, is before the Court on respondent's motion for continuance, filed September 6, 2024.

Giving due regard to the representations contained in that motion, it is

ORDERED that respondent's motion is set for hearing at the place shown in the Notice Setting Case for Trial, served May 7, 2024, at a time and date certain of 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. It is further

ORDERED that the parties are excused from appearing in this case on Monday, October 7, 2024, as previously directed and need not comply with the obligations imposed upon them in the Standing Pretrial Order served May 7, 2024.

The Court is inclined to grant the motion. The hearing will focus on the future actions the parties intend to take to prepare for trial or to resolve it without the need for one.
