JEFFREY R. VAUGHAN, Appellant, v. RAUL MEDINA AND LAW OFFICE OF RAUL MEDINA, P.C., Appellee.
On appeal from the 430th District Court of Hidalgo County, Texas.
ORDER
Before Chief Justice Contreras and Justices Benavides and Longoria
Per Curiam Order
Appellant Jeffrey R. Vaughan has filed a "Motion to Reduce Supersedeas Bond" and an "Expedited Motion to Stay Pending Motion to Reduce Supersedeas Bond." Appellant requests that we vacate the trial court's June 27, 2019 order increasing the supersedeas bond previously set and find that the $300,000.00 bond deposited with the Hidalgo County District Clerk on May 3, 2019 is sufficient to suspend enforcement of the judgment pending appeal. By his emergency motion, appellant seeks to stay all trial court proceedings pending resolution of this issue.
The Court, having examined and fully considered the "Expedited Motion to Stay Pending Motion to Reduce Supersedeas Bond," is of the opinion that it should be granted in part and denied in part. We GRANT the motion insofar as we order the June 27, 2019 order increasing the bond to be stayed pending further order of the Court. The motion is DENIED with regard to all other trial court proceedings.
The Court requests that appellees, Raul Medina and the Law Office of Raul Medina, P.C., file a response to the "Motion to Reduce Supersedeas Bond" within ten days from the date of this order.
IT IS SO ORDERED.
PER CURIAM Delivered and filed the 17th day of July, 2019.
